Palampur— The CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (CSIR-IHBT) concluded its spirited three-day National Sports Day celebrations today, commemorating the birth anniversary of hockey icon Major Dhyan Chand. The event, held from August 29 to 31, was anchored in the national theme: “Har Gali, Har Maidan; Khele Sara Hindustan”, which inspired widespread participation and camaraderie across the institute.

The celebrations kicked off with a Fit India Pledge administered by CSIR-IHBT Director Dr. Sudesh Kumar Yadav, setting the tone for a festival of fitness, teamwork, and wellness. Staff and scholars engaged in a vibrant mix of outdoor and indoor sports, including Cricket, Volleyball, Athletics, Table Tennis, and Carrom board.

The initiative not only promoted physical health but also reinforced values of unity, commitment, and active living within the campus community. The diverse events reflected the institute’s dedication to holistic well-being and its alignment with national fitness goals.
