Anti-Ragging Week Concludes at Dr. Y.S. Parmar Government College, Nahan

Nahan – The Anti-Ragging and Discipline Committee of Dr. Y.S. Parmar Government College, Nahan, concluded its Anti-Ragging Week today with a series of competitions, oath-taking ceremonies, and prize distributions. The week-long observance, held from August 12 to 18, aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of ragging and promote a culture of respect and safety on campus.

On August 12, a slogan-writing competition was organized, where Isha secured first place, followed by Manisha in second and Geetanjali in third. Today, on August 19, a debate competition was held, with Isha once again winning first prize, Tanuja taking second, and Manisha placing third.

During the closing ceremony, Dr. Pankaj Chandak, District NSS Nodal Officer of Sirmaur, delivered a lecture on the “History and Regulations of Anti-Ragging”, emphasizing the legal and ethical frameworks that protect students. Principal Dr. Vibhav Kumar Shukla, sharing his personal insights, declared that ragging is a violation of human rights, urging students to uphold dignity and compassion in all interactions.

The event was judged by a panel comprising Dr. Reena Chauhan, Dr. Ravikant Sharma, and Prof. Rajat, while NSS volunteer Payal anchored the proceedings with poise. The ceremony was graced by faculty members including Dr. Uttama Pandey, Dr. Bharti, Dr. Pankaj, Prof. Sudesh, Prof. Richa, Dr. Jagpal, Dr. Yashpal, and Dr. Saloni Sood.

The week served as a powerful reminder that educational institutions must remain safe spaces for growth, dialogue, and mutual respect.
