Dharamshala, July 8, 2025 — Himachal Pradesh BJP media co-in-charge Advocate Vishva Chakshu lashed out at the Sukhu government, accusing it of favoring associates while neglecting disaster victims across the state. Chakshu criticized the recent hike in honorariums for chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of government boards, calling it unjustified during a time of economic hardship.
He alleged that the government, while claiming financial instability, continues to indulge its close allies with perks and positions, ignoring the needs of flood-affected communities and pending dues of employees and contractors. Chakshu claimed that false promises and increasing debt burden have pulled the state backwards.
He pointed to a ₹1 lakh increment in honorarium for the chairman of the Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board, previously ₹30,000, as emblematic of mismanagement. He also accused CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of avoiding ground-level disaster relief efforts and suggested that former CM Jai Ram Thakur’s approach was far more hands-on.
According to the BJP leader, the ruling Congress government has failed to deliver on its election promises, resorting to announcements of illusory development while allegedly sidelining genuine workers’ rights. He described the government’s actions as a betrayal to employees awaiting their due dearness allowances and arrears.
