Chamba : In a significant step towards holistic education, 12 teachers from Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh have received specialised training in life skills education.
Under the Aspirational Blocks Programme of NITI Aayog (Government of India), the initiative is being jointly implemented by the Magic Bus India Foundation and the Himachal Pradesh Education Department. The life skills education programme will now be launched across 90 government schools in the two aspirational blocks of the district — Tissa and Pangi.
The aim of this programme is to empower students not only with academic knowledge but also with essential life skills that are crucial for personal and social development. Through activity-based learning, students will develop competencies in 11 key areas: problem-solving, decision-making, self-management, creativity, empathy, self-awareness, adaptability, communication skills, collaboration, negotiation and confident self-expression.
To facilitate this, 12 teachers from the district were selected and trained as master trainers from June 9 to 13, 2025, at Sameti, Mashobra (Shimla). The training was conducted by subject experts from Magic Bus India Foundation, focusing on content delivery, activity-based pedagogy and assessment techniques.
The trained teachers include Himanshu, Maan Singh, Balbir Singh and Govind from Kalhel educational block; Vinod, Kamlesh, Sanjeev and Manoj from Tissa block; and Gurditta Singh, Bittu Ram, Pankaj and Vipin Kumar from Pangi block. These educators will now train fellow teachers within their respective blocks to ensure effective grassroots-level implementation.
The programme is being jointly monitored and supported at both district and block levels by the Magic Bus India Foundation, NITI Aayog and the Himachal Pradesh Education Department. This initiative is not only a stride toward making students self-reliant but also aims to nurture them into responsible and aware citizens of tomorrow.
