DHARAMSHALA: After the resounding success in Chamba, Dharamshala and most recently Nurpur, the much-celebrated ‘The Newz Radar-Shining Star Awards 3.0’ is all set to make its next stop in Hamirpur on June 21, 2025.
The venue will be the auditorium of the National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur. The event will see former Union Minister and local MP Anurag Thakur gracing the occasion as chief guest and would honour Himachal Pradesh’s brightest young minds from Hamirpur and Bilaspur districts for their outstanding academic performance in the recently declared Class 10 and Class 12 (all streams) board examination.
The awards, a flagship initiative of The Newz Radar, Himachal Pradesh’s first and only English digital news network, aim to recognise Class 10 and 12 students (across all boards) who have performed extraordinarily in their board exams.

Momentum builds across Himachal
The awards series, currently in its third edition after the launch in 2023, has already created waves across the state. The Dharamshala event saw Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri leading the celebrations, while Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania did the honours in Chamba. Nurpur’s ceremony, held on June 12 at Jyoti resort in Kandwal was presided over by local BJP MLA Ranbir Singh Nikka, who called the event a “meaningful celebration of youth, education and hope.”
Each ceremony witnessed an overwhelming turnout of students, teachers, parents and community members, making the awards not just a felicitation event but a people’s movement for academic pride and youth empowerment.

Hamirpur, Bilaspur gear up
Now, all eyes turn to Hamirpur and Bilaspur, known for their academic excellence and competitive spirit. The June 21 function is expected to draw hundreds of achievers and their families. With Anurag Thakur as Chief Guest, anticipation is high for what promises to be another memorable event in the Shining Star Awards journey.
Powered by Aarni University and Minerva Study Circle, co-organised by NIT-Hamirpur, co-powered by IITians Classes and supported by Ratan Jewellers-Mandi, P3Y, Club Viva-Hamirpur, Hamir Stone Crusher and Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (HPPCL), the Shining Star Awards 3.0 continues to grow in strength and sentiment.
About the purpose of the initiative, Sunil Chadha, Executive Editor, The Newz Radar, says these awards are not just about marks, but motivation, resilience and reminding students that their hard work matters.
S Gopal Puri, Political Editor, The Newz Radar, calls the ceremonies as a salute to the silent supporters, including parents and teachers, who fuel the dreams of meritorious students.
“As board exam results bring both excitement and pressure, The Newz Radar remains committed to standing by the students — not just as journalists, but as partners in their journey to success,” asserts Abhinav Sharma, Head of HR, The Newz Radar.
