Meerut: A brutal case of suspected honour *killing has sent shockwaves through Partapur in Uttar Pradesh after the decapitated body of a 17-year-old girl was discovered in a field in Bahadurpur village.
The victim, identified as Aastha, alias Tanishka, from Dadri, was a Class 12 student whose headless torso was found.

The police recovered a piece of paper from the victim’s pocket containing a mobile number, which led them to a teenage boy from Nangli Sadharan.

The boy confirmed that he was friends with Aastha and had been in regular contact with her. However, her family members refused to identify the body, raising suspicions.

Family members under scrutiny

The police have detained Aastha’s mother, two brothers, two maternal uncles and a cousin for questioning. According to the police, Aastha was allegedly in a relationship, which her family opposed, leading to the murder.

Victim was missing since Wednesday

Aastha had been missing since Wednesday, but her family did not report her disappearance. Her father is a CRPF employee and is posted in Chhattisgarh.

The police are still searching for Aastha’s severed head, which was not found at the crime scene. Forensic teams and local officers are combing the area for further evidence.
