SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has denied any differences between him and Congress state president Pratibha Singh saying the government and the party organisation were working in “full coordination”.
Reacting to a statement by Pratibha, who is Mandi MP, that she wasn’t taken into confidence while finalising the programme to celebrate the government’s competition of one year in power, CM Sukhu said he remarks were misconstrued. “I have spoken to Pratibha Singh and she has called a meeting of the Congress state leaders on Thursday (December 6, 2023).
In this meeting, preparations for the government’s one-year tenure will be discussed and responsibilities will be assigned to party leaders. The government and the Congress party are working in full coordination,” he said.
Chief Minister Sukhu also said a booklet was being prepared on the important decisions taken during his one-year tenure in Himachal, the responsibility of which had been given to Minister Jagat Singh Negi.
A fresh round of discord had erupted between the Himachal Pradesh government and the Congress organization when Pratibha alleged that she was not taken into confidence while planning the event.
Pratibha expressed dismay at not being taken into confidence regarding the anniversary programme, stating that governments were formed in collaboration with party organisations. She emphasised that despite Chief Minister Sukhu’s roots in the party organisation, sidelining the organisation was an undesirable move.
The Himachal Pradesh government is gearing up for a significant programme scheduled for December 11 in Dharamshala, marking its one-year milestone. Chief Minister Sukhu has extended invitations to Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge, former national president Rahul Gandhi and general secretary Priyanka Gandhi for the event.
