DHARAMSHALA: The Himachal Pradesh Police’s Kangra unit has arrested three persons for allegedly writing pro-Khalistan slogans at a private property near Maa Chintpurni Temple road in Una district.
Kangra Superintendent of Police Shalini Agnihotri said the slogans were discovered on a road adjacent to the temple on November 29. Following a thorough investigation, the police successfully traced and apprehended the suspects in Goraya (Jalandhar) during a raid on Saturday morning.
During the investigation, more than 150 CCTV cameras were scrutinised by the police. The accused, after committing the act, stayed overnight in a hotel and the next day, they returned to Jalandhar. One of the suspects had received ₹25,000 from abroad in his account. The promise of an additional ₹25,000 was made upon completing the task.
Expressing concern, SP Agnihotri emphasized the need for youngsters to resist succumbing to the allure of money for activities contrary to the interests of the nation. She highlighted that further investigations are ongoing, and cautionary measures will be intensified in the future.
The three accused will be presented in court, where remand proceedings will take place to facilitate continued investigation into the incident.
