MANDI: In an initiative to empower women, Sundernagar SDM Amar Negi and Balh SDM Smritika Negi, a dynamic power couple in Himachal Pradesh, have come together to organise Mrs Himachal 2025.
The prestigious event, being held as part of the state-level Tsechu Mela in Rewalsar and Nalwar Mela in Sundernagar, aims to provide married women of Himachal a grand stage to showcase their confidence, beauty and talent.
The couple, who has been actively working towards social and cultural empowerment, see this as an opportunity to celebrate the strength and individuality of Himachali women.
For the first time, both SDMs have joined hands to launch such a unique initiative, making the upcoming event one of the highlights of International Women’s Day celebrations in the state.
Beauty pageant that breaks stereotypes
Unlike conventional beauty contests, Mrs Himachal 2025 is not bound by restrictions on height and weight, ensuring equal opportunities for all married women.
The competition is divided into three categories:
Mrs. Himachal (21-30 years)
Classic Mrs Himachal (31-40 years)
Supra Mrs Himachal (40+ years)
Each category winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 21,000, a testament to the organisers’ commitment to recognising and rewarding talent and confidence.
Spectacular multi-round event at 2 iconic festivals
The competition will unfold in a four-round format, allowing participants to display their skills, personality and grace in diverse settings:
Tsechu Mela, Rewalsar
• March 8: Round 1 – Traditional Dress & Introduction
• March 9: Round 2 – Retro Round (70’s Bollywood Style)
Nalwar Mela, Sundernagar
• Round 3: Retro & Talent Round (Minimum 90 seconds)
• Round 4: Gown Round with Q&A
Speaking to The Newz Radar, the SDM couple said, “As an administrator and as a woman, I strongly believe in creating opportunities for other women to shine. Mrs Himachal 2025 is not just about external beauty — it’s about confidence, strength and individuality. Women from every corner of Himachal should feel encouraged to step forward, express themselves and inspire others.”
Her husband and co-organiser, Sundernagar SDM Amar Negi echoed similar sentiments:

The event is being coordinated by Mrs Kalpana Thakur, a well-known name in the beauty industry and the proud winner of Mrs India 2017, Mrs Himachal 2017 and Mrs Asia International 2017 (Photogenic). Her expertise and experience are set to bring unparalleled grandeur to the contest.
