A tragic accident occurred in Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur district on Saturday evening when a mixer truck lost control and plunged 150 feet into a deep gorge near the banks of the Sutlej river. The incident took place around 7.30 pm on the Tangling link road near Shongtong.
Two youths are reported missing following the mishap. The missing individuals have been identified as Rikhy Pariyar (26) from Kishtwar in Jammu & Kashmir and Kanya Lal (27) from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh.
Efforts underway to locate missing youths
Upon receiving information, the police rushed to the spot and launched a search operation. Kinnaur Superintendent of Police Abhishek Shekhar confirmed the incident and stated that efforts were underway to locate the missing youths.
On Sunday, an NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) team also joined the rescue operation to intensify the search. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident, which remains unclear as of now.
