Shimla/Nalagarh: Nalagarh MLA Ram Kumar Chaudhary on Wednesday addressed recent media allegations regarding Baddi SP Ilma Feroz’s leave of absence, ending his silence on the controversy.
Chaudhary firmly refuted claims of his involvement in the SP’s leave decision, calling attempts to link him with the situation baseless and “cheap political tactics.” The statement follows speculation by opposition parties and reports from some online media outlets connecting Chaudhary to the controversy surrounding SP Feroz, who was the face of Baddi police force.
The MLA clarified his limited role in police matters, noting that decisions about officer leaves and transfers fall under the Chief Minister’s purview, as the Home Department and police administration are overseen by the Chief Minister and the Director General of Police (DGP). Chaudhary stated, “Whether an SP takes leave or someone is transferred, only the Chief Minister or the DGP can comment on it. I neither recommended nor issued any note on this, and SP Ilma Feroz has not been transferred. She is on leave for personal reasons, which has nothing to do with me.”
Addressing media reports, Chaudhary criticized certain online news portals for falsely linking his name to the situation, claiming this misinformation has damaged his reputation. Chaudhary also announced plans to initiate legal and defamation proceedings against those responsible, particularly those who seek to defame him without evidence. “I am committed to pursuing strict legal action, including a defamation case, against any individual or media outlet attempting to tarnish my name unjustly,” he asserted.
Chaudhary took the opportunity to respond to rumors concerning his personal business affairs, particularly regarding alleged ownership of stone crushers and vehicles involved in violations. Refuting these claims, he clarified, “I don’t own any crushers, vehicles, or related businesses under my name today. My crusher is on lease to SPG Infra Pvt Co, and my truck is operated by a man named Abhishek.” He emphasized that any allegations associating his name with business infractions are not only unfounded but also part of an intentional attempt to smear his public image.
Chaudhary believes this controversy is part of a broader conspiracy by certain political opponents to end his career. “Some opposition members are actively conspiring to damage my political career,” he remarked, vowing to counter these efforts. He assured his constituents that he remains focused on his public duties and will not be distracted by unfounded allegations.
Chaudhary’s strong response underscores his determination to protect his reputation and reaffirm his commitment to Nalagarh’s development, regardless of the challenges presented by opposition efforts to discredit him.
