A businessman running a jewellery showroom in Himachal Pradesh’s Una has allegedly received a ransom demand of Rs 1 crore via a phone call.
The caller threatened the jeweller of serious repercussions if the demanded amount was not paid, raising security concerns in the region. The businessman, who owns jewellery showrooms in both Una and Nangal, has since lodged a complaint with the Nangal police station.

According to initial reports, the call was made by an unknown individual to the businessman’s Una showroom, located near Una college. The caller issued a stern warning, implying severe consequences for the businessman and his family if he failed to meet the demand.
A senior police official confirmed that the Nangal police had launched an investigation into the matter. The district police were tracking potential leads and that heightened vigilance was in place to ensure the safety of the businessman and his establishments, the official said.
