Mandi: BJP MP from Mandi and actor Kangana Ranaut has once again launched a scathing attack on the Gandhi family, ignoring recent warnings of defamation from Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department Minister Vikramaditya Singh.
Speaking at an event in Mandi, Kangana took aim at former Congress national president Sonia Gandhi and her children, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi.
Kangana questioned the maturity of the Gandhi siblings. “Sonia Gandhi is still raising small children… Both Rahul and Priyanka have been in their childhood for 50 years each. We, on the other hand, didn’t have a childhood even at 15. We started building our careers at a young age and earned our own bread. I began scriptwriting at an age when most girls were still writing love letters in school and college,” the BJP MP quipped.

The comments are likely to further inflame political tensions, especially following her similar statements made during a visit to Kullu district the day before. Kangana didn’t stop there as she went on to accuse Congress-led states of economic mismanagement, claiming that funds meant for development were being diverted to Sonia Gandhi.
“Apart from Himachal Pradesh, the states where Congress is in power are facing economic crises,” she asserted.
Kangana’s remarks have already triggered sharp reactions from Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh, who challenged her to provide proof for her claims. “I challenge Kangana to show such a transaction of even one rupee,” he said. “If she cannot present the facts related to this, then she should apologise to Sonia Gandhi. Otherwise, we will file a defamation suit against her for the baseless allegations she has made,” he had said.
