Sukhu cabinet clears 50-bed hospital for CM wife’s constituency, nod to fill over 100 posts in forest, health depts

Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh cabinet, led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, on Friday approved the filling of numerous vacant posts across various departments to enhance operational efficiency and public service delivery in the state.

Among the key decisions, the cabinet approved the recruitment of 100 Assistant Forest Guards in the Forest Department, aimed at bolstering conservation efforts and forest management.

Additionally, the Department of Printing and Stationery received the green light to fill 33 vacant posts of various categories, ensuring the smooth functioning of essential services.

In the Home Department, the cabinet decided to fill several crucial positions, including two Deputy Superintendents of Police, one Dispenser in District Jail-Mandi, an Assistant Director (Biology and Serology) and three Laboratory Assistants (Chemistry and Toxicology). Furthermore, a new police station will be established at Sissu in Lahaul-Spiti district, with 18 posts created and filled to operationalise the facility.

Six posts have also been sanctioned for the newly opened police post at Hatli in Chamba district.

The Health Department will see the addition of six Medical Officers (Dental) in ESI Health Institutions across various locations in Shimla and Solan districts. The cabinet also sanctioned the establishment of 50-bedded Critical Care Blocks at Civil Hospital Dehra in Kangra district and Civil Hospital Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur district. CM Sukhu’s wife Kamlesh Thakur is the MLA from Dehra.

The cabinet also authorised the Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog to announce the results for Post Codes 903 and 939, with certain positions kept vacant pending the outcome of ongoing investigations and court proceedings. In the legal domain, 10 posts of different categories will be filled in the Advocate General Office to strengthen legal operations.
