‘Singhavlokan’ is CPS Awasthi’s Mantra to Meritorious Students, admires Robert Frost

Solan: Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s most trusted ally, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthi, left the audience in awe at the art and culture auditorium while addressing around 400 meritorious students from the region. He shared that, although his current position may seem glamorous, it took him nearly 20 to 25 years of struggle to get there.

Awasthi was the chief guest at the prestigious Shining Star Award ceremony organized by The Newz Radar. “I read literature, and there is a word called ‘Singhavlokan.’ Meritorious students should remember this word throughout their lives and always look back to credit those who helped them. It may be your parents, teachers, or friends,” he said.

He spoke about American poet Robert Frost and recited the Hindi version of his famous poem ‘The woods are lovely, dark and deep.’ “This is not the last achievement, but the beginning. Just fix your goals and start working dedicatedly towards them. Only your hard work will serve you; nobody else can,” he advised the students.

The Newz Radar, Himachal’s own English news network, organized this awards ceremony to honor students who scored 85% and above in the recent board examinations.

The audience was surprised to hear such a speech from a politician. Nobody expected Awasthi to have such deep knowledge of life and literature.

Awasthi, a close aide of first-time Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, honored the students and urged them to stay away from bad influences, hinting at the increasing drug menace that is ruining many young lives.
