Mandi: The construction of the 42 crore Mandi College building, a project initiated under the previous BJP government, is now in its final stages. To date, over 35 crore has been spent on the building.

Former Minister and Sadar MLA Anil Sharma stated that an additional 6 crore is required to complete the project. Once the additional funds are provided, the building is expected to be completed within three months.

During an informal conversation with the media after inspecting the construction site, Sharma highlighted that the project was initiated during the tenure of former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur. Initially, the project was allocated a budget of 280 million. However, modifications to the building’s design led to an increased budget, causing a temporary halt in construction. An extra 100 million has since been spent, covering 90% of the work.

Sharma emphasized the need for the state government to allocate the additional 60 million to ensure the timely completion of the building. He has formally requested this funding from the government.

In addition to the main building, an auditorium was also being constructed. This facility is intended for both academic activities and indoor sports, following extensive consultations with stakeholders.

The timely completion of the Vallabh College building will significantly enhance the educational infrastructure in Mandi, providing a state-of-the-art facility for students and faculty alike.
