Over 350 meritorious Class 10 and Class 12 students, who have secured 85 per cent or higher marks in their board examination, were honoured at TNR Shining Star Awards at the auditorium of the Skill Development Institute at Palakhvah in Haroli (Una) on Wednesday (June 26, 2024).
Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri was the Chief Guest while Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal was the Special Guest. Mukesh Agnihotri lauded The Newz Radar team for organising the grand event and hosting such a massive gathering.
The Newz Radar, the trusted and only English digital news network based out of Himachal Pradesh, has been organising such award functions in every district of Himachal.
Before Una, the event was organised in Bilaspur on Sunday (June 23) where nearly 300 meritorious students were felicitated.
The June 26 event in Una was the sixth episode of the second edition of the prestigious Shining Star Awards, which were instituted in 2023 to celebrate the extraordinary academic achievements of the super brains, among them several from ordinary backgrounds.
Before Bilaspur, the award functions were organised in Dharamshala, Chamba, Kullu and Mandi this year.
The aim behind organising the Shining Star Awards is to connect with bright young minds and foster a constructive society, says Sunil Chadha, Executive Editor at The Newz Radar.
He avers that it’s a must to honour students, their parents and teachers who have worked hard for years to achieve such academic milestones.
Gopal Puri, TNR Political Editor, welcomed the guests at the event. Puri mentioned how Mukesh Agnihotri, due to his sincere efforts, got the auditorium built at Palakhvah, which was the only such facility in rural Himachal.
