Fire Incidents in Dharamshala: Over 22 Crore Worth of Property Saved

Dharamshala: As temperatures rise in Himachal Pradesh, the number of fire incidents has increased significantly. Under the fire season, the Fire Department in Dharamshala has reported substantial losses and numerous fire incidents.
Fire Incidents and Losses
So far, there have been 60 forest fires, 3 house fires, 2 vehicle fires, one transformer fire, and 2 rescue operations. According to Station Fire Officer Karmchand, the total property damage amounts to ₹61,31,200, but the department has successfully saved property worth over ₹22 crore. Officer Karmchand noted that public cooperation during fire incidents has been very helpful.
Preventive Measures and Safety Advice
No casualties have been reported in Dharamshala so far. Officer Karmchand advised residents, especially those living near forest areas, to maintain cleanliness around their homes. He emphasized the importance of collecting pine needles and grass in one place away from homes to prevent the fire from spreading to residential areas.
