The lintern of a building in Subathu area of Solan district in Himachal Pradesh suffered a major damage on Tuesday morning after a boulder fell from an adjoining hill, causing damage to a nearby shop and leading to cracks in the building.
A youth sleeping in the house also received minor injuries and was referred to Chandimandir hospital for treatment. The accident took place at Naya Nagar on the Subathu-Dharampur road around 7.45 am on Tuesday. The house belongs to an ex-serviceman.
The administration team is currently on the spot and preparing a damage report. An immediate relief of Rs 5,000 has been given to the victim’s family.
This is not the first time such an incident has occurred in the area. Many buildings in the hills are at risk due to their location.
