Shimla: Are criminals afraid of Shimla police?
Apparently not, going by the brazen and fatal attack on a youth at 2 am on Monday in front of a police control room in Shimla.
The youth, 21-year-old Manish from Chaupal in Shimla, was taken to the hospital by the police. He died during treatment.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased worked at a restaurant on Mall Road.
Police reached the spot where the youth was assaulted.
The assailant had broken into the restaurant to make the fatal assault. A blood covered Manish had managed to run till the police control room and to attract the attention of the police on duty he smashed the window pane with the weapon with which he was assaulted. The police seized the weapon used for the assault.
A report of murder was registered at Sadar police station and police were investigating with the help of CCTV footage and other evidence.
