Around 5,000-kg dead fish have washed up on the shores of a large saltwater lagoon in southeast Spain in nine days. The local government has blamed recent hot weather for the deaths of the fish in the Mar Menor, south of Murcia. As per the scientists, pollution from local farming has degraded the water quality which led to deaths.

The country’s Defence Ministry said that the citizens from Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine would be evacuated on four military planes. The evacuations will be carried out upon orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin, it added.

400 illegal migrants rescued off Libyan Coast: UN refugee agency

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said that it has rescued about 400 illegal migrants off the Libyan coast. The migrants, including 28 women and four children, have been returned to Libya, the agency added. According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), more than 22,000 illegal migrants, including women and children, have been rescued so far this year.
