Chamba: “When teachers and students from Himachal Pradesh excel in Kota, Chandigarh, and Delhi coaching institutes, why can’t we elevate our state to that standard?” This was the thought-provoking question posed by Dr. Rishad Mohammad during his address to hundreds of students at Durbar Hall, Chamba, on Tuesday.
Dr. Rishad, who heads the well-established Guru Study Center known for its NEET preparation, shared his vision of creating a premier coaching institute in Himachal Pradesh. He revealed that despite offers from renowned coaching institutes in major cities, he chose to establish a center in his home state to foster local talent.
“I advise parents to consider the risks when sending their children away. Who knows what they are eating, drinking, or the company they keep? Additionally, it’s uncertain if they are comfortable and able to grasp the lectures,” he warned.
Dr. Rishad emphasized the importance of parental vigilance, especially as drug addiction becomes increasingly prevalent. He shared firsthand accounts of meritorious students whose lives were derailed by bad influences, underscoring the need for close supervision.
Addressing students who had scored 85% and above in Chamba district, as well as their parents, Dr. Rishad stressed the importance of mentorship. He cautioned against relying on social media for educational goals, advocating instead for guided, disciplined study practices.
“Mentorship is crucial for students. They should not depend on social media applications to achieve their life goals,” he asserted.
The event, attended by top-performing students and their parents, highlighted the potential of local talent and the need for robust educational infrastructure within Himachal Pradesh. Dr. Rishad’s inspiring address called for a collective effort to elevate the state’s educational standards to match those of the country’s leading coaching hubs.
