Promises to address issues of locals; denies any competition with Kangana Ranaut
MANDI: Himachal Pradesh Cabinet Minister Vikramaditya Singh has opened a camp office in Mandi, days after Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut inaugurated her own office in the city.
The move comes as part of Singh’s promise to the people of Mandi following his defeat in the recent Lok Sabha elections. The office, situated in the Rajmahal Complex, was formally inaugurated today, in the presence of his mother and Congress state president Pratibha Singh.
Fulfills promise made after election loss
Vikramaditya, who serves as the Public Works and Urban Development Minister in the state, said the office is aimed at providing a direct line of communication between him and the people of the Mandi parliamentary constituency.
“I made a promise to the people of Mandi after my defeat in the elections and today, that promise has been fulfilled. The people can now come here, share their concerns and we will work towards resolving their issues,” Vikramaditya said during the inauguration ceremony.

Vikramaditya assured the public that problems related to departments under his charge would be addressed immediately, while efforts would be made to resolve issues from other departments as well. “Elections have winners and losers, but my commitment to solving the problems of the people will continue,” he emphasised.
Vikramaditya added that the office would not incur any government expenses and would be entirely self-funded. “This is a personal initiative, and I will bear all its costs,” he said.
Responding to media queries, Vikramaditya clarified that his camp office was not opened to compete with BJP MP Kangana Ranaut’s office. “Kangana is an elected representative, and I respect that. This office is not meant to rival hers but to fulfill the promise I made to the public of Mandi,” he explained.
Says will cooperate with Kangana for state benefit
Vikramaditya acknowledged the work Ranaut has done for the state by securing assistance from the central government. He expressed his willingness to cooperate with her for the benefit of the state. “Kangana has brought help from the center, and we are ready to support her efforts. I am also working to bring aid at my own level, and other BJP leaders are cooperating in this regard,” he said.
He also highlighted a recent achievement in which his department secured Rs 300 crore from the central government for road construction projects in the state. “This money is meant for the development of the state, and cooperation across party lines is essential,” he said, urging that political differences be set aside for the state’s welfare.
Congress leaders grace occasion
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several prominent Congress leaders, including state president Pratibha Singh, former minister Kaul Singh Thakur and former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sohan Lal Thakur. The gathering saw an enthusiastic response from local Congress workers and supporters.
