The weather in Himachal Pradesh is expected to worsen from December 30 to January 1, with the likelihood of light rain in moderate areas and snowfall in higher altitudes. Various regions in the state have experienced a drop in temperatures over the past 24 hours.
Shimla, the capital city, recorded a maximum temperature decrease of 2 degrees Celsius, reaching 16.0 degrees Celsius. Sundernagar saw a decrease from 4 to 19.6 degrees Celsius. Bhuntar experienced a 6-degree temperature drop, registering 16.2 degrees Celsius. Kalpa recorded a maximum temperature decrease of 3.5 degrees, settling at 12.6 degrees Celsius. Similarly, Dharamshala saw a 3.0-degree drop, maintaining a temperature of 20.0 degrees Celsius. Una also witnessed a decrease of 3.4 degrees, with a maximum temperature of 21.4 degrees Celsius.
Minimum temperatures have also shown a decline. Shimla recorded a minimum temperature of 7.6 degrees Celsius, Kalpa reached minus 0.2 degrees Celsius, and Dharamshala registered 8.0 degrees Celsius. Rikang Peo experienced a drop to 2.2 degrees Celsius, while Solan recorded the highest temperature at 22.0 degrees Celsius and the lowest in Kukumseri at minus 10.4 degrees Celsius.
Although there has been a decrease in temperatures over the past 24 hours, some places, including Shimla, Kalpa, and Dharamshala, still have temperatures above normal.
