Sarkaghat: During an election rally in Baldwara, Kangana’s hometown in Sarkaghat, the Congress candidate from the Mandi parliamentary seat, Vikramaditya Singh, asked actress Kangana Ranaut to return to Mumbai and focus on her film career, assuring voters that he will handle the responsibilities here.
“Kangana is a talented actress, and she has said she will not abandon her film career. It is up to the people of the Mandi constituency to decide what kind of representative they want in Parliament,” Singh said in his public address.
He criticized the BJP for exploiting regional sentiments by labeling Kangana as Mandi’s daughter to garner votes.
“I do not subscribe to regional politics. I consider myself a son of the entire Himachal Pradesh, not just one area,” Singh said.
He said that his father, the late Virbhadra Singh, who served as Chief Minister for 22 years, never divided the state on regional lines and worked for the equitable development of all areas.
Singh also addressed the controversial Agniveer recruitment scheme, stating that the INDIA alliance has resolved to terminate the program if it comes to power.
“This scheme is a blatant deception for our youth. A soldier who safeguards our borders deserves respect, not a mockery. Those who have applied under the Agniveer scheme will not need to reapply; they will be given permanent positions in the army,” he said.
