Dharamshala: Vishwanath Malkotia, hailing from Dharamshala, has made history by becoming the first badminton referee from Himachal Pradesh.
Malkotia secured the 11th position in the national-level referee examination conducted by the Badminton Association of India in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
His success in the examination has brought laurels to Himachal Pradesh, showcasing the talent and dedication of its sports enthusiasts.
Vilas Hans, the secretary of the Kangra District Badminton Association, confirmed Malkotia’s achievement, highlighting his previous experience in controlling matches at the international level. Malkotia expressed his gratitude towards the Himachal Pradesh Badminton Association and the Kangra District Badminton Association for providing him with opportunities to participate in district, state, and national-level examinations and referee duties.
