Stockholm: US-based researchers David Julius and Ardem Patapoutian have been jointly awarded the 2021 Nobel Prize in the ‘physiology or medicine’ category, the Nobel Committee has said.
The Prize has been given “for their discoveries of receptors for temperature and touch”, it added. The duo described the mechanics of how humans perceive temperature and pressure through nerve impulses.
