Jhansi (UP): After the BJP lost its majority in the recently concluded Indian parliamentary elections, a dedicated activist in his 90s, who had spent his life promoting devotion and yoga through Indian classical music among the youths of Uttar Pradesh, based in Jhansi, wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He urged him to adhere to the principles of the Bhagavad Gita to lead the nation toward a more prosperous and harmonious future.
In his heartfelt letter, Krishan Kant Jha (91) outlined several reasons for the BJP’s recent electoral defeats and offered a humble plea for self-reflection and adherence to divine principles.
The activist emphasized the neglect of the teachings of Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita, particularly the concept that “Action is thy duty, reward is my concern.”
“I used to admire Modi but I criticize the pre-announcement of election outcomes with slogans like ‘Abki Baar 400 Paar,'” said Jha, arguing that such declarations contradicted the essence of performing duties selflessly.
Jha stressed that actions should be performed without attachment, considering oneself as an instrument of the Divine. He highlighted the need for leaders to attribute achievements to the entire party and to see themselves as servants of the people and instruments of God.
The letter also addressed several concerns regarding the inclusion of corrupt leaders from other parties into the BJP.
“Welcoming tainted leaders while sidelining dedicated party workers demoralizes the grassroots cadre and undermines the party’s integrity. The silence of the Modi government on atrocities against BJP workers in West Bengal is not good. There is a need to take a firm stand against such violence and ensure the safety of BJP supporters,” said Jha.
Furthermore, Jha stated that while divine resolve forgives the flaws of lust, anger, greed, and attachment, it does not tolerate arrogance. He urged the Prime Minister to maintain humility and to delegate controversial matters to other party leaders to avoid unnecessary political damage.
The activist also shared a message from a revered spiritual figure meditating in the Himalayas for thousands of years. He also sent a specific mantra to Prime Minister Modi, believed to have the power to transform adverse conditions into favorable ones. Jha expressed hope that the Prime Minister would recite the mantra for at least seven days, considering it not just a personal appeal but a national necessity.
The activist emphasized that India’s protection and development were best served under Prime Minister Modi’s and the BJP’s leadership, provided they aligned their actions with the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita.
