Dharamshala: Union Minister Anurag Thakur’s visit to Kangra Airport for a two-day tour of his parliamentary constituency, Hamirpur, was marked by political assertions and criticism aimed primarily at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Thakur expressed his contentment with Hamirpur while subtly acknowledging other influential leaders in Kangra.
Thakur confidently proclaimed that Rahul Gandhi’s electoral defeat is inevitable, regardless of which constituency he chooses to contest from. Thakur suggested that public sentiment is overwhelmingly against Gandhi, citing previous instances where the electorate rejected him, including in Uttar Pradesh and potentially in Wayanad. He portrayed Gandhi as disconnected from the populace and claimed that the people perceive him as a deceitful figure.
Thakur also took aim at the opposition coalition, predicting its disintegration even before the Lok Sabha elections. He reiterated this belief, emphasizing the fragility of the alliance and the inevitability of its collapse.
Shifting focus to developmental projects in Himachal Pradesh, Thakur highlighted the central government’s contributions, particularly in railway infrastructure. He mentioned ongoing efforts to expand railway connectivity, with funds allocated for extending the rail network to Daulatpur and the recent introduction of train services to Haridwar and Ujjain.
