Two youths from Himachal, who are stuck in strife-torn Afghanistan, following the Taliban’s takeover of the country, are expected to return to India soon.
CM informs media persons
Speaking to the media persons at Gaggal airport, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that one of them had managed to reach the airport, while efforts are on to trace the other youth.
The families of both persons had requested the government to bring them back. The Himachal government has provided the External Affairs Ministry all information regarding these youths.
Rs 1400 crore for Gaggal and Mandi airport expansion
The Chief Minister told the media that the state government had taken up the issue of expansion of Kangra airport, based in Gaggal, with the Union government, as well as the Finance Ministry.
The Finance Ministry has allotted Rs 400 crore for the project, he said. Similarly, Rs 1000 crore will be pumped into the Mandi airport by the Finance Ministry with the consent of the Central government.
CM offers condolences on the death of MLA’s mother
The Chief Minister visited the house of BJP MLA Arun Kumar, from Nagrota Bagwan, to offer condolences over the death of Arun Kumar’s mother.
He was accompanied by BJP state president Suresh Kashyap, state Assembly Speaker Vipin Parmar and other BJP leaders.
