In a tragic incident in Chamba district, three people lost their lives and ten others were injured when a vehicle plunged into a deep gorge on the Rak-Sanwara link road on Thursday morning.
According to the police, the vehicle, carrying a total of 13 passengers, veered off the road and fell into the gorge, resulting in a horrific accident. The deceased include two women and one man. The impact of the crash was so severe that the vehicle was completely wrecked.
Local residents, who heard the crash, rushed to the scene and began rescue operations. The police arrived shortly after and joined in the efforts. Two of the injured, who are in critical condition, have been referred to Tanda Medical College, while the remaining eight are receiving treatment at Chamba Medical College.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident. Meanwhile, the community is in shock and mourning the tragic loss of lives.
This accident highlights the dangers of traveling on hilly terrains and the need for stringent safety measures to prevent such tragedies in the future. The police have urged drivers to exercise extreme caution while navigating these roads.
