A tourist from Punjab met a tragic end after being swept away by the strong currents of Bhagsunag nallah. The police successfully recovered the body of the youth, located approximately 100 meters downstream. The victim, identified as Pawan Kumar (32), hailing from Jalandhar, had arrived in McLeodganj with friends for a day out.
The sudden surge in water levels near the Bhagsunag Waterfall caught them off guard. While others managed to escape, Pawan was carried away by the force of the water.
SDRF Kangra and local police promptly initiated search operations, culminating in the recovery of the young man’s body downstream from the waterfall. A case has been registered, and further investigations are underway.
