Landslide on Shimla’s Circular road, between Sanjauli and Lakkad Bazaar on Tuesday at 11 am brought vehicular traffic to a standstill.
Initially, the road was closed as a precautionary measure.
Traffic snarl made commuting a nightmare on both sides of Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC). Police managed to ensure some movement of vehicles but vehicles parked on the roadside made their task very difficult.
Cranes had to be deployed by the police to tow away some vehicles to clear the way for traffic.
People headed for the IGMC or towards Ridge and Mall Road faced a lot of difficulties.
Today’s landslide in this area is the second one in the past three days. Two days ago also there was a landslide between Sanjauli and Lakkad Bazaar and traffic was obstructed.
