When a person passes away the whole world wakes up to eulogise about him/her but the same world does not bother to inquire or talk about this person when he is alive. This is what humans do. They have been doing this for centuries.

So, it may come as a shock for some people, if they search the internet for news about political leaders talking about or expressing any interest in the wellbeing of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav when he was admitted to Medanta Hospital, Gurugram.

Mulayam Singh Yadav was admitted to the Medanta Hospital on August 22 and had been on life-saving drugs due to his extremely critical condition in the last few days. He was put on a ventilator and admitted to the ICU at the hospital on October 2. He had serious lung and kidney issues, according to the hospital report.

Cutting across party lines and right from PM Narendra Modi to Union home minister Amit Shah to Congress president Sonia Gandhi and thousands of others, everyone has been waxing eloquent about “Netaji” as Mulayam Singh Yadav was popularly known. Yet, when he was alive and ailing how many actually visited him at the hospital?

Going by what Google search has to offer, “Netaji’s supporters in Saifai, his paternal home, organised a ‘havan’ on Monday.
Akhilesh Yadav, SP president, appealed to all not to land up at the hospital.

On October 6 Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar visted the ailing Mulayam Singh Yadav.

As per Google news, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Om Prakash Chautala, Nitish Yadav were among the prominent leaders who took time off to meet the ailing leader.

Sadly, no sooner the news about his death flashed across everyone who matters started waxing eloquence about him and there is a veritable rush for Saifai, his hometown, by leaders of all political outfits to attend his last rites. This is normal and this is how it has been happening for decades.

If he were still alive he would be extremely happy to know that so many political rivals of his loved him and respected him so much.
