Shimla | TNR
Union minister for information and broadcasting, youth affairs and sports, Anurag Thakur hit out strongly against the Opposition.
“Congress constantly trying to make things chaotic”
Speaking at the Jan Ashirwaad Yatra in Shimla on Thursday, Thakur said that the only goal of the Congress was to disrupt Parliament by creating ruckus in the House.
The Congress was constantly trying to bring chaos (anarchy) from the streets to the Parliament, he stated.
Thakur said that this was evident from the Opposition’s behaviour when they did not allow Prime Minister Narendra Modi to introduce the new council of ministers in Parliament while he was attempting to tell the people of the country that these ministers had been chosen from different sections of the society and every corner of the country.
The Opposition just cannot digest the fact that the people of the country had elected Modi as Prime Minister with absolute majority not once but twice, he stated.
Accorded rousing welcome
Thakur was earlier accorded a rousing welcome on his arrival in Shimla. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and several MLAs were present on the occasion. Thakur’s convoy left Himachal Bhawan in Chandigarh on Thursday morning. He was given a warm welcome by several party workers at different places en route to Shimla. Speaking at Peterhof in Shimla, the minister said India was on its way to becoming a ‘Vishwa Guru’ under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also said that efforts will be made to spread Himachal’s culture all over the world.
Parwanoo public meeting
Addressing the party’s Jan Ashirwad rally in Parwanoo, Anuraag Thakur said that the BJP’s victory rally would continue unabated with the blessings of the people despite the innumerable obstacles and roadblocks that the Opposition put in his path. He added that the BJP is a party that belongs to its workers and each one of them is its strength.
Rally focuses on bringing Modi’s policies to the people
The purpose of the five-day rally was to bring the policies of the Modi government to the people, expose the negativity of the Opposition and seek the blessings of the people, he added.
Covid protocol thrown to the winds
Thakur’s Jan Ashirwad rally saw Covid rules being flouted openly right from Chandigarh to Shimla. Hundreds of party workers who joined the rally, neither wore masks nor maintained social distancing throwing caution and Covid appropriate protocol to the winds.
