Apple’s ‘App Tracking Transparency’ feature is a dud: Ex-employee


Apple’s ex-engineer Johnny Lin told The Washington Post that Apple’s ‘App Tracking Transparency’ feature is a “dud”. He explained that giving users the option to tap ‘Ask App Not To Track’ button gives them a “false sense of privacy”. Three popular iPhone games were found sharing information with ad companies even after being asked not to track, the publication said.

NASA has shared a picture of a nebula (interstellar cloud) which is shaped like a hand and said that it was blown by a pulsar, which is a magnetised rotating compact star. The pulsar was left behind when a star exploded, NASA said, adding, “The pulsar…is about 19 kilometres in diameter and it’s spinning around almost 7 times per second!”.

Former lab director at Theranos, Adam Rosendorff, testified that he believed the American blood-testing startup was poised to be “the next Apple”. “I really bought into the idea of laboratory testing being done with a very small finger prick sample,” he said. He added that he tried to alert Theranos Founder Elizabeth Holmes that the machines were yielding inaccurate results.

Bitcoin scammers steal $69,000 using Apple event as lure


Scammers reportedly created a lookalike stream for Apple’s iPhone 13 launch event on YouTube and stole as much as $69,000 worth of Bitcoin. As per reports, a pop-up message redirected people watching the fake event to a website advertising a Bitcoin giveaway. The giveaway asked users to send 0.1 to 20 Bitcoin and receive double that amount in return.


Star Trek actor to fly to space aboard Blue Origin rocket: Report

Actor William Shatner, who played the role of Captain James T Kirk on television series ‘Star Trek’, is expected to fly to space aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket in October, TMZ reported. The 15-minute space flight will reportedly be filmed for a documentary. The 90-year-old actor will become the oldest person ever to go to space after his trip.
