Google extends work-from-home option till January 2022 amid COVID-19 surge

Google has extended its global voluntary return-to-office policy through January 10, 2022, amid a surge in COVID-19 cases, CEO Sundar Pichai announced. Beyond January, Google will allow different countries and locations to decide when to end voluntary work-from-home conditions with a 30-day notice. “The road ahead maybe a little longer and bumpier than we hoped,” Pichai said.

The rules will protect the citizens from fake news in the digital media space, the Centre added. “The regulatory vacuum with respect to digital media’s content has led to the spread [of] fake news…without any accountability of digital news publishers,” it added.

WhatsApp banned accounts for violating either the laws of India or WhatsApp’s Terms of Service. In its first report, WhatsApp said it banned 20 lakh Indian accounts from May 15 to June 15.

New Apple Watch production delayed due to complicated design

The production of the upcoming Apple Watch has been delayed in large part due to its complicated design as per reports. Manufacturers reportedly began small-scale production last week, but they faced difficulties in reaching satisfactory production performance. The production has been temporarily suspended as Apple and its suppliers try to sort out the issues, the report said.
