Tesla CEO Elon Musk, while commenting on EV start-up Rivian’s reported $80 billion IPO, said, “Don’t want to be unreasonable, but maybe they should be required to deliver at least one vehicle per billion dollars of valuation before the IPO.” Earlier, Rivian had confidentially submitted its plans to regulators for an IPO and was reportedly seeking an $80 billion valuation.
SpaceX cargo mission to ISS postponed to Aug 29 due to weather
NASA has announced that due to poor weather conditions SpaceX’s 23rd Commercial Resupply Services mission to the International Space Station, planned for August 28, has been postponed to August 29. Following the scheduled launch on Sunday, SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft will dock at the ISS on August 30. It’ll deliver important research, crew supplies and hardware to the crew aboard.
Upcoming iPhone series to launch on Sep 14
Apple could launch its upcoming iPhone series in an event on September 14. As per reports, all the models of the series ranging from the lowest end to the highest variant will feature LiDAR sensors. The new lineup of iPhones may be available for pre-order a few days after the event on September 17.
12-year-old UK coder earns £290,000 by selling ‘Weird Whales’ NTFs during holidays
A 12-year-old coder, Benyamin Ahmed, from London has made about £290,000 during the school holidays, after creating and selling a series of pixelated artworks called ‘Weird Whales’ as non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Benyamin is keeping his earnings in the form of Ethereum, the cryptocurrency in which they were sold. “I plan to…not convert it to fiat money,” Benyamin said.
Google in advanced talks to invest several thousands of crores in Airtel
Alphabet’s Google has been in advanced talks with Bharti Airtel for one year to make “substantial investments, running into several thousands of crores. The board of Airtel, which had a debt of ₹1.6 lakh crore, as of June, will meet on Sunday to consider raising funds. In July 2020, Google invested ₹34,000 crore in Jio Platforms.
