Sunny day on Jan 27 after higher reaches in Himachal witnessed snowfall on Jan 26; mercury plummets in many places

Shimla: The overcast sky along with rain and snowfall in many places in Himachal on January 26 was followed by a sunny day but with a cold breeze on January 27. There are chances of rainfall and snowfall in the higher reaches of the state later in the day.
The meteorological department has forecast chances of rainfall and snowfall on January 28.
The met department has also issued a forecast on the state likely to witness inclement weather till February 1.
The snowfall and light rain in some high-altitude areas of the state had an impact on the temperature with the mercury shooting down in Bharmour, Dalhousie, Manali, Atal Tunnel, and Lahaul Spiti.
The mercury dipped below the normal on January 26 night in many places including Kalpa (minus 3.6 degrees C), Manali (minus 1.5 degrees C), Kukumseri (minus 5.8 degrees C), Narkanda (minus 2.1 degrees C), Reckong Peo (minus 0.8 degrees C), and Samdho (minus 5.0 degrees C).
In Bhuntar the minimum temperature was 0.7 degrees C, in Mandi and Bharmour 0.9 degrees C, and in Sarahan 0.5 degrees C. Shimla recorded a minimum temperature of 4.6 degrees C, Sundernagar 1.1 degrees C, Una 3 degrees C, Dharamshala 5.2 degrees C, and Dalhousie 2.7 degrees C.
The maximum temperature in Shimal was 11.8 degrees C, Sundernagar 22 degrees C, Bhuntar 16.2 degrees C, Kalpa 8 degrees C, Dharamshala 17.5 degrees C, Una 21.6 degrees C, Solan 21 degrees C, Mandi 19.4 degrees C, Manali 10.1 degrees C, Narkanda 6 degrees C, Kukumseri 4.3 degrees C, Reckong Peo 10.6 degrees C, Dalhousie 8.3 degrees C, and Samdho 6.2 degrees C.
