Shimla/Dharamshala: Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has embarked on a four-day tour outside Shimla, focusing on Dehra, Hamirpur, and Nadaun constituencies—areas that hold significant personal and political importance for him. This tour is seen as a strategic move to consolidate his influence in his home turf, where he will participate in various programs aimed at bolstering the Congress party’s presence.
Sukhu arrived in Dehra on Wednesday evening, where the state government has announced a state-level function in his honor. The Chief Minister is set to stay in Dehra for two nights, during which he will engage with the public and participate in the Independence Day celebrations.

On August 16th, CM Sukhu will be the chief guest at a state-level meeting of beneficiaries of the ‘Swamitva Yojna,’ a scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in April 2020. The scheme aims to provide land ownership rights to people in rural areas, a move that could resonate strongly with the rural electorate.
The final leg of his tour, on August 18, will see Sukhu in Hamirpur, where he will distribute tablets to teachers and launch a scheme for the distribution of additional items under the PM-Poshan initiative, funded by the state government.
Since assuming office as the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has faced numerous challenges. However, he has been actively working to strengthen his political base and build a loyal team to solidify his position in the state’s political landscape.
The BJP has been quick to label his administration as “Mitron Ki Sarkar,” but recent developments suggest that Sukhu is keen on surrounding himself with trusted allies as he navigates the complexities of governance and party politics.
