‘Sukhu’s ‘film flopped’ the day 6 Congress MLAs deserted him’: Jai Ram
Counters CM over his remarks that BJP leader was a ‘flop director’
MANDI: Himachal Pradesh leader of opposition and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Friday (May 10, 2024) hit back at Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu saying the Congress leader had “forgotten that his own movie flopped the day when six of his MLAs left the Congress to join the BJP”.
Sukhu had on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Jai Ram alleging he was daydreaming of toppling the Congress government, and that he was a “flop director who was producing his third flop film in two years (referring to Kangana’s political debut)”.
Addressing a rally in Sujanpur where BJP candidate Rajinder Rana filed his nomination on Friday, Jai Ram asserted that “movies of such anti-people governments were bound to flop”. Congratulating Rana, he urged the people of Sujanpur to bless the “popular and hardworking BJP candidate”.
Union Minister and Hamirpur parliamentary constituency candidate Anurag Thakur too was present on the occasion.
Speaking at a rally at Seri Manch in Mandi before Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh filed his nomination, Sukhu had alleged that Jai Ram, as Chief Minister, directed his first movie in 2022 with the slogan “Riwaz badlengey”.
“The aim was to retain power, but the film flopped. The second movie was directed on February 27 when he tried to topple the government and Jai Ram had even stitched a new suit. But this film too was a big flop. Now, Jai Ram is making a third film in which he has called a Bollywood heroine to shoot in Himachal Pradesh for a month,” he said.
Sukhu said Jai Ram had been shooting in different locations daily in the entire Mandi parliamentary constituency. “I am confident Jai Ram’s this film will also flop as he is a flop director. Kangana is a good and successful Bollywood actress, but nowadays she is stuck with the wrong director who will sink her,” the Chief Minister said.
