Dharamshala: During the question hour, BJP MLA Randhir Sharma sought details about the amount allocated to districts from January 1, 2023, to January 15, 2023, and its utilization. He specifically questioned whether these funds are utilized for solar lights.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu responded, citing variations in funds received by different districts based on population. He encouraged MLAs to submit written requests to ensure proper allocation and highlighted cases delayed due to land unavailability.
Cash Payments for BPL Farmers Proposed
Congress MLA Kuldeep Singh Rathore raised concerns about pending dues for HPMC and Himfed farmers. Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi acknowledged the longstanding issue and suggested announcing a specific date for pending payments. He addressed price disparities for the 20-liter oil spray and revealed the outstanding amount under Mandi mediation is Rs. 78 crores.
Negi mentioned recent product distributions worth Rs. 22 crores and expressed openness to the suggestion of providing cash to BPL farmers for better flexibility. BJP MLA Balvir Singh Verma emphasized immediate cash payments for IRDP beneficiaries, urging attention to quality differences, to which Negi expressed agreement, stating quality inputs would be ensured with cash payments.
