Trade Unions across the country demonstrated against the policies the Central Government today. The strike called by the Central Trade Union and National Federations was observed by CITU, INTUC, AITUC, Joint Coordination Committee of Central Employees, Insurance, Banks, BSNL, Postal Workers, AG Office workers and central employees working in various work areas across Himachal. It was also supported by the Himachal Kisan Sabha, Janwadi Mahila Samiti, Dalit Shokhna Mukti Manch, DYFI and SFI. Mid- day meals in schools were also affected as a result of the strike. Trade Unions will carry forward the strike on Tuesday also.

Employees staged a sit in at Dharamshala, Chamba, Shimla, Hamirpur, Una, Bilaspur and Mandi under the leadership of CITU National Secretary Dr. Kashmir Thakur, State President Vijendra Mehra, General Secretary Prem Gautam, INTUC State President Hardeep Singh Bawa, General Secretary Sitaram Saini, AITUC State President Jagdish Bhardwaj, General Secretary Devki Nandan, NZIEA State President Subhash Bhatt, General Secretary Pradeep Minhas, HPMRA State President Hukm Chand Sharma a; tnd General Secretary Seth Chand Sharma.
