Mandi: In a deeply concerning incident at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical College in Ner Chowk, Mandi, six senior MBBS students, including two females, have been suspended following a brutal ragging episode on the night of September 12th.
The victims, both in the junior and girls’ hostels, numbered between 15 to 20.Swiftly addressing the situation, the institute imposed a three-month suspension on the offenders. In addition, they have been expelled from the hostel for six months and each fined Rs 25,000. Dr. DK Verma, the Principal, revealed that the perpetrators were from the MBBS 2022 batch, targeting their peers in MBBS 2023.
This incident comes on the heels of a recent ragging case at IIT Mandi, where the institute responded with rigorous disciplinary actions, including a six-month suspension for ten students involved.
