State-level Master Veteran Badminton Tournament to commence in Dharamshala on Feb 19

Dharamshala: A state-level Master Veteran Badminton Tournament is scheduled to take place in Dharamshala from February 19 to 21, 2024.
The Kangra Badminton Association organized a meeting in Dharamshala on February 4 to discuss the modalities.
Association secretary Vilas Hans, said that Dharamshala is hosting this prestigious tournament for the first time.
The tournament, sanctioned by the Himachal Pradesh Badminton Association, has been entrusted to the Kangra Badminton Association for organization.
Special thanks were extended to KK Sharma, president of the Himachal Pradesh Badminton Association, and Ramesh Thakur, secretary, for their confidence in Kangra district to host this event.
Participants ranging from the 35 to 75-plus age categories will compete in singles, doubles, and mixed matches from various districts across Himachal Pradesh. The competition structure includes four players from each district in singles, two teams in doubles, and one team in mixed matches.
In an exciting addition, on February 18, a one-day qualifying round at the national level will be held in Himachal Pradesh. Each district will field two players in singles and one team each in doubles and mixed matches. This initiative aims to boost badminton’s popularity in Himachal Pradesh.
The winners and runners-up of this tournament will be honoured by the Kangra Badminton Association and the Himachal Pradesh Badminton Association. Moreover, the victors will represent Himachal Pradesh in the national-level competition.
