Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Eoin Morgan has been fined ₹24 lakh after his team maintained a slow over-rate during their IPL 2021 match against MI. Rest of KKR’s playing XI has been fined lesser of ₹6 lakh or 25% of their match fee. Morgan had earlier been fined ₹12 lakh for the same offence against CSK.

Gender-neutral term ‘batter’ to be used instead of ‘batsman’ as cricket laws amended
The MCC has announced amendments to the laws of cricket to use the gender-neutral terms ‘batter’ and ‘batters’, rather than ‘batsman’ or ‘batsmen’. MCC believes that the use of gender-neutral terminology helps reinforce cricket’s status as an inclusive game for all, the law-making body of cricket said. The changes are effective immediately, the MCC added.
60-year-old Suriname Vice President Ronnie plays football match for club he owns
Ronnie Brunswijk, the 60-year-old Vice President of Suriname, played a football match for Inter Moengotapoe in CONCACAF League encounter against Olimpia from Honduras. Brunswijk, who is wanted by Interpol for drug trafficking crimes, is the owner of the club. He appointed himself as captain and played 54 minutes of the game before being substituted.
