Shuttler Krishna Nagar assures India’s 3rd medal in badminton at Paralympics

Shuttler Krishna Nagar has entered the final of the men’s singles SH6 event, assuring India’s third medal in badminton at the Tokyo Olympics. Krishna defeated Great Britain’s Krysten Coombs 21-10, 21-11 in the semi-final to reach the gold-medal match. Noida District Magistrate (DM) Suhas LY and Pramod Bhagat have also reached finals in their respective categories in badminton.

Shooter Narwal bags India’s 3rd gold at Tokyo Paralympics, Singhraj wins silver medal

Shooter Manish Narwal won the men’s P4 Mixed 50m Pistol SH1 final to bag India’s third gold at Tokyo Paralympics. The 19-year-old won the event by breaking Paralympic record with a score of 218.2. Meanwhile, shooter Singhraj won silver, his second medal at the ongoing Paralympics after his bronze in P1 Men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 event.

World no. 3 Tsitsipas knocked out of US Open by 18-year-old Carlos Alcaraz

World number three Stefanos Tsitsipas has been knocked out of the US Open in the third round by Spain’s 18-year-old Carlos Alcaraz. Tsitsipas lost with the scoreline of 3-6, 6-4, 6-7(2-7), 6-0, 6-7(5-7) in four hours and seven minutes. With the win, Carlos became the youngest Spanish man to reach the US Open fourth round since Rafael Nadal in 2006.

Defending champion Osaka knocked out of US Open in 3rd round by 18-year-old Leylah

Defending champion Naomi Osaka has been knocked out of the US Open in the third round by Canada’s 18-year-old Leylah Fernandez. The world number three lost the match against Leylah with the scoreline of 7-5, 6-7(2-7), 4-6 in two hours and four minutes. It is the 73rd-ranked Laylah’s biggest win of her career.

India end Day 2 of Oval Test at 43/0 in second innings, trail England by 56 runs

India ended the second day of the fourth Test at Kennington Oval in London at 43/0 in second innings, trailing England by 56 runs. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul are unbeaten on 20*(56) and 22*(41) respectively. Earlier in the day, England were bowled out for 290 in their first innings.

Noida District Magistrate (DM) Suhas LY, who is representing India in para-badminton at the Tokyo Paralympics, has entered the final of the men’s singles SL4 category. He defeated Setiawan Fredy of Indonesia in the semi-final with a scoreline of 21-9, 21-15.
