Shooter Avani Lekhara, who became the first-ever Indian woman to win a gold medal in the history of Paralympics on Monday, won a bronze medal in the R8 – Women’s 50m Rifle 3P SH1 event today. The 19-year-old shot a score of 445.9 to finish third. She had won gold in R2 – Women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 event.
18-year-old Praveen wins silver, becomes youngest Indian to win a medal at Paralympics
India’s 18-year-old high jumper Praveen Kumar bagged a silver medal in the men’s T64 final with an Asian record 2.07-metre jump at Tokyo Paralympics. He became the youngest Indian to win a medal at Paralympics. Before him, 19-year-old shooter Avani Lekhara was the youngest Indian to win a Paralympic medal.
