South Korea to buy 70,000 courses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 pill

South Korea will buy 70,000 courses of Pfizer’s antiviral COVID-19 pill, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said on Saturday. This comes after Pfizer said its pill reduces the chances of hospitalisation or death by 89% in people who’re at high risk of severe COVID-19. Earlier, South Korea had signed agreements to secure 20,000 courses of Merck’s COVID-19 pill.
