Shimla: A case of extortion and death threats purportedly from the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang has surfaced in Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla, sending shockwaves through the local business community.
Gaurav, a trader from Timber House in Shimla, has lodged a formal complaint with the Shimla Superintendent of Police, claiming to have received a threatening phone call demanding ransom. The Shimla police are reportedly investigating the complaint, working to verify the source of the threat and whether the Bishnoi gang or an imitator could be behind the call. The incident has stirred widespread concern among local business owners, many of whom fear that organised criminal groups are expanding their reach into the Himachal region.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, infamous for extortion and other criminal activities, has been allegedly involved in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and the recent killing of Mumbai politician Baba Siddique. In another high-profile incident, the gang reportedly issued death threats to Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
